Of course I am not advocating for an unhealthy lifestyle, because we’re going to lose the battle anyway (lighten up!).
I am not saying “lay down your sword”, nor “give up the fight”.
It is worth remembering though that we’re all just passing through.
It is also worth remembering that in the passing, LEAVE YOUR MARK. You may lose the battle, but they will know you were here…

The Ravenous Animal

The thinking mind, with all of its noise, grows more ravenous, the more it is fed. This is not entirely bad; on occasion one has need for an administrative assistant, or even a guard dog. But don’t let it fool you into its illusion, for as clever as it may be at computation, it is even more clever at convincing you of the despair of the past, or the fear of the future. Both are illusion, and with rapt attention to his convincing antics, this trickster is devouring your Present…the only thing real.

Right on Track.

It’s easy to assume that things go right, things go wrong. Sometimes you rise, sometimes you fall. But if we observe the world objectively, we may see it’s perfection. How trees make energy via photosynthesis; how a single cell divides and differentiates to become a functioning, self-aware animal. It’s quite possible the what we see as “mistake” is simply our limited awareness. If we assume that maybe, just maybe, everything is as it should be, we have a chance to observe and maybe even witness the perfection that was there all along. If we do that, however, we have to also assume that every event leading to this moment…was right on track as well.
