I don’t need you to think like me, look like me, or live by me. I will fight for your right to live your truth, make your music, and complete your journey.
I’ll be right by your side, on the ready.
even if it is not my journey.
If you stand for limiting another’s journey, if you stand for limiting another’s dreams. if you stand for hatred, judgement or violence simply because something is different from you,
then I wont be there.
Then, you walk with karma.
At least you’re not alone…
There is no doubt that the world is a little chaotic,
to say the least.
It’s easy to bitch and complain about the state of politics,
or the current health crisis.
Just remember that it’s SUPPOSED to be that way;
it’s a challenge to try to steal your attention, your focus,
your Courage…but be still. Hold steady, though the wild winds blow-
that’s how warriors are made, and not one
is without scars.
So often we struggle to be seen as “right”.
Seeking validation is a sign of weakness, and right and wrong are often nebulous at best. A true Warrior is not concerned with joining groups or how he is seen; he travels his path, facing his personal darkness, and pushes forward for the light on the other side, knowing our darkness is the path to our growth, and is our personal journey, to be traveled alone.
The dance of opposites is what makes everything possible.
Dark doesn’t exist without light,
just as computer code needs both zeros and ones.
We come to grasp, hopefully, that how we choose to use
the experiences of our past, shape who we are
but do we ever consider that the future is also calling us
to who we are to become?
Who we are right now…depends on both.
If left unchecked, it can spread like fire…leaving us immobilized. But we are not powerless; we only need to see that the root of all dis-ease is fear. Fear only has power when we don’t face it, or can’t see it. Taking the action to face it always changes the outcome… just like Schrödinger’s cat. Advancing in the presence of fear…that’s how warriors are made.
It is often thought that warriorship is about violence, conflict and the hope of victory. In reality, warriorship is about the negation of conflict; its about letting the universe do whatever it will…and we just move with it.
Warriorship is less about combat, and more like an eternal dance with the divine.
It seems natural to seek the easy way out, to seek fairness, to frown at the looming darkness on the horizon. May we remember that all gain is preceded by conflict, and conflict is only given to Warriors.
Turn it around.
Run toward the flames.
Welcome the rain. Rise to the challenge, even if it kills you.
You’re a Warrior. It’s what you’re born for.
The storms should be fearing you.
